What To Expect
Thank you so much for your enrollment and support of our programs! We are so excited to start learning with your student!
This year will look a little different than years past. So, we want to give you a good idea of what to expect as you begin your classes this fall at Mountain Kids Louisville and MCDA!
Daily Health Screen:
The first thing you’ll notice is you will receive a health screen text from us the morning of your class day. Please complete prior or upon your arrival. Your adherence to our 100% wellness policy is important to the health of all our students, families and faculty. If you would kindly opt into text messages when you receive the Text-Opt in email and then save this number 303-395-4833 in your phone it will help our daily text message get to you consistently.
Hand Hygiene – Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands:
Our faculty will help your student sanitize their hands upon arrival either via hand sanitizer or, if preferred, 20 seconds of vigorous hand washing with soap and water in our bathrooms. Students will also be required to wash hands or sanitize before they leave the facility to join you in the car.
Curbside Drop-Off/Pick-Up:
CDPHE and BCPH guidelines require us to limit the number of people in the building and strongly ask that we require curbside drop-off/and pick-up whenever possible. Therefore, all students 5yrs and up will be greeted by our friendly faculty at our main entrance on the west side (Taylor Ave.) and escorted inside the facility to start their class.
Parents please park and greet your students on the sidewalk at our South double doors for pick-up. Our teachers will walk your student out the South Side doors to greet you.
Staggered drop-off/pick-up:
While we worked to create a schedule that allows for staggered start times, it was not always possible. Please be aware several classes may be starting or ending at the same time on certain afternoons.
Class Size/Number of Classes in the Facility:
Our fall schedule is designed to maximize what we are allowed to run per guidelines without being busy or crowded.
- Mornings may include up to 4 groups in the gym and 1 class in each dance studio.
- Afternoons may include up to 5-7 groups in the gym and 1 class in each dance studio.
- Team gymnasts will be in the facility during class time starting at 5pm Mon/Wed and 5:30pm Tues/Thu and Fridays starting at 4pm.
- Class sizes will remain small. Our ratios are 6:1 for our youngest, 8:1 older gymnastics classes, 10:1 in dance.
Social Distancing:
With a successful summer under our belts we’ve become experts at planning socially distant curriculum and structure. We are excited to continue to meet this challenge with creativity! Students will be socially distanced during classes as much as possible. However, please be aware students naturally want to socialize and congregate and a 100% socially distant class is not realistic.
Face masks:
All adults and teachers must wear a face mask inside the facility when unable to maintain 6ft of distance. Masks are encourage to be worn upon arrival/exit (required 11yrs+), students may be exempt from wearing a mask during physical activity. American Academy of Pediatrics: Guidelines for Safe Return to Sports
Facility Sanitizing and Disinfecting:
Our schedules are created to provide ample time to sanitize and disinfect all equipment and frequently touched surfaces between classes.
Make-Up Policy:
At this time makeup classes are available through our virtual programming either via live virtual classes or our On Demand Library.
Missed classes are not eligible for a tuition credit or refund.
If for any reason you are uncomfortable with the policies and procedures above we ask that you transfer to a virtual class until you feel more comfortable returning to in-person classes. We understand how challenging this time is for everyone and have worked hard to provide learning and movement opportunities to meet families where they feel most comfortable.
Our mission at Mountain Kids Louisville/MCDA is to create a warm, positive and safe environment for all our students, families and faculty! We are striving to create a fun environment as close to normal as feasible to let kids be kids in the safest way possible.
Thank you again for joining us for this journey as we continue to look for silver linings and new opportunities among the challenges.
With Gratitude,
Anna Narvaes
